A Great Choice Of First Camera Is The Canon Powershot A495

By Harry Trangu

When you have made up your mind to get started using a digital camera, and retire your film camera, the features are a little perplexing to figure out. Buying an elementary and easily operated model as your first digital camera will help to prevent potential difficulties. Digital cameras come in all levels, from the user-friendly, to the very advanced, especially when they have video features.

It may be a little difficult learning to use a digital camera if what you are used to is a film camera with simple features. The camera screen shows you what your photograph will look like, and you will see if you have to adjust the focus, so it is not as simple as pointing and clicking. The Canon PowerShot A495, with its smooth, curved edges and streamlined look, has the simplicity a novice wants. The compact sophistication makes it perfect for people who are looking for convenience, but style also. One of the features is 3.3x optical zoom, whereas the resolution is 10.0 megapixel which allows you to snap photographs filled with astounding color. Everything appears clear with the DIGIC III Image Processor.

The screen image is bright and bold with a 2.5 inch LED, which makes for enjoyable image capture and image playback. You can satisfy virtually all tastes because you are given a selection of three colors. You can carry the Canon PowerShot A495 in a bag which makes for shooting fast pictures, and it is not a costly camera. The Canon PowerShot A495 is a basic camera and it comes from a popular camera company. You have to keep in mind that you are getting what you pay for, so don't be expecting what you would get from a thousand dollar camera. The PowerShot A495 is not hard to use as soon as you open up the box, particularly if you are not a complete beginner. You will have to read the user manual if you are unfamiliar with cameras.

The camera will last a long time, even though it is made out of plastic. Being somewhat bigger than the ultra-compact cameras, the Canon PowerShot A495 won't be dropped as easily. Even the close-up photographs the PowerShot A495 takes are of an awesome quality. The PowerShot A495 comes with software that enables you to upload videos, with sound, to YouTube, directly after having filmed them. The PowerShot A495 comes with ZoomBroser, an excellent software for editing photographs. It does take a while to recharge after you have taken a photograph, which is one of the few negatives of the PowerShot A495. It is even worse when the flash is in use, but for a camera using two AA batteries, that is typical. The Canon PowerShot A495 doesn't come with optical viewfinder or image stabilization, but that is true of most cameras that cost the same.

The resolution is not good, in spite of the big LED screen, but it improves vastly when you download and view photos on your computer. The cost of the Canon Powershot A495 makes it a superb camera for a beginner. The slowness of the recharge after taking a picture is the worst of the drawbacks.
